For those who' have only heard mention of this outstanding musical organization, or-ganization, an introduction is pertinent. Hanson's Cornet Choir has played all over the United States and is acclaimed as the world's finest in cornet choirs. No group has ever gained the recognition from musicians as has her group. No other groups can compare to the finesse and technical facility The Cedar City High School Concert Band will feature some of the finest original compositions for wind band that have been composed. Included In-cluded in the performance will be "Danzo Final" from Estan-cia Estan-cia by Alberta Ginastera. This selection is considered one of the most difficult compositions for wind band in print. Soloists for this piece will be Gaye Stucki, Susan Brazier, Braz-ier, piccolo and flute; David Piatt, clarinet; Mike Leavitt, Dan Garber and Marilyn Dover, Dov-er, horns; and Lance Whetten, serve as an example of the superb quality of the band, Silvester stated. The concert will be the finale fin-ale of the year and will terminate ter-minate Mr. Silvester's stay as director of bands at the high school and elementary schools. He is leaving to accept an as-sistantship as-sistantship at Brigham Young University, where he will accept ac-cept one of two positions, either eith-er director of the concert band or assistant to Ralph Laycock, director of the symphony or-, chestra at BYU.
