Show Cedar City Little Leagues to act as host to 14 - team District Tourney next week nated from further tournament tourna-ment competition, according to Arlo Larson, tourney director. direc-tor. Last week the two Cedar City Leagues . met to select tournament teams to be represented re-presented in the four-day event and possibly further tournament competition. In the National League Wes Kama, manager of the champion cham-pion Jones Motor Co. team was named as the tournament team manager and he will be assisted by Delias Imlay who coached Elks, second place finisher in this year's action. Jones Motor: Stuart Chris-tensen, Chris-tensen, Leslie Dilley, Bruce Nakken, Bruce Wark, Bruce Whiting. Elks: Kerry Cox, Brent Slack, Vernon Sheffer, Robert Rob-ert Walker and Kendall Webster. Defending District Tournament Tourna-ment champions are Tri-City team of Orderville, Kanab and Fredonia who defeated the Cedar American Little League, rs in tho championship game in Kanab last year. It was a 6-5 battle in three extra innings. Fourteen Little League Baseball tournament teams will converge on Cedar City this next week to participate in the District Little League tournament to be co-hosted by the Cedar American and Cedar National Little League organizations. Tournament competition will begin on Wednesday, July 26 and continue for four days with a champion to be named in the tourney finals Saturday afternoon. Winner of the tournament will advance to the state finals to be hosted the next week in Cedar City which will pit the winners from the Cedar City tournament and a winner from the northern portion por-tion of the state in a one-game playoff to determine the right to continue on to the next level of tournament play. Cedar National will be pitted pit-ted against Lincoln County Nevada in the opening game of the tournament to be played play-ed at 9 a.m. on the Cedar Elks Park. Balance of the opening day schedule is as follows: 10:45 a.m. West Zion vs. Fillmore. 12:30 p.m. Cedar American vs. Beaver. 2:15 p.m. South Sevier vs. Pa rowan. 4:00 p.m. Richfield vs. St. George Sunset. 5:45 p.m. Tri-City vs. Pan-guitch. Pan-guitch. Two teams, Milford and St. George Sunrise drew an opening open-ing round bye. Winners will meet winners and lasers will meet losers in a similar six game schedule on Thursday.
