Show National delegates selected by W V 1 veterans ., Tracy Blood, Melville Arns, Maronia Klingonsmlth and Parry Mackelprang were elected elect-ed delegates to the National Convention of the Veterans of World War I at the meeting of the Cecfar City Barracks held this past week. Named as alternates were Wilford Webster, Irvin Waler, Frank Jackson and Morton Thorley. The National convention conven-tion will be held in Palm Springs, Calif, in August. In a seperate meeting the WWI Auxiliary also named delegates. Plans were also laid for a summer party to be held August Au-gust 11 at Wood's Ranch Recreation Re-creation campground. Details will be announced at a later date. A discussion on Americanism American-ism and flag etiquette was led by President Jenson. He pointed out to members that the flag should never be left outside overnight; we should respect the flag at all times. The flag should be flown from sunrise to sunset and never in inclement weather, he pointed out. Holidays on which the flag "should be flown include: Lincoln's and Washington's birthday, Mother's Moth-er's Day, Memorial Day, half staff; Flag Day, Veterans Day, Independence Day, Labor Lab-or Day, Presidential election, Columbus Day, and Thanksgiving. Thanks-giving. Such other days as may be proclaimed by the President of the United States and on State holidays or oth-er oth-er occassions that the flag should be flown, it was pointed point-ed out. |
