GEORGE MILLER HUFFMAN Judith Rae Stewart claimed by George Miller Huffman m rites Nuptial rites performed Saturday, Sat-urday, July 8, in the Cedar City Ninth Ward Chapel united unit-ed .in marriage Miss Judith Rae Stewart and George Miller Mil-ler Huffman. Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Paul T. Stewart, Cedar City and Mr. Huffman is the son of the late Harold R. Huffman and Mrs. Iva Miller Ilu'fman of Lake Charles, La. Bishop Francis Botonson officiated at the double ring ceremony. The wedding march and prelude pre-lude music was played by Mrs. Wesley Larson. Prayer prior to the nuptial exchange was given by WHlard Thompson. A short talk was then given by Jay Don Alger and a special spec-ial musical selection was rendered re-ndered by Mrs. Richard Win-terose. Win-terose. The newly-weds were honored honor-ed at a reception the same evening given by the bride's parents at fhe Ninth Ward Cultural Hall. A buffet dinner was served to friends and relatives re-latives in attendance. The bride was radiant in a gown, train and crown which she designed herself and which was fashioned by she and her mother. The bridal gown was of heavy candlelight candle-light slipper satin. It featured a princess silhouette with jewel neckline and bishop sleeves. The dress was trimmed trim-med in hand beaded Venitian lace at neck, sleeves and matching mat-ching cuffs. Her bridal veil was of brides illusion and fell In three tiers to a full chaipel length from a ipearl and lace crown which matched her dress. She carried an old fashioned fash-ioned bouquet of white roses, heather and baby's breath. The bride was given in marriage mar-riage by her father and standing stand-ing as maid of honor was the bride's sister-in-law Mrs. P,hil Stewart. Attendants were Mrs. Joey Bleak and Mrs. Wesley Roberts. They wore floor length gowns of royal purple crushed velvet and orchid satin. sat-in. They featured scooped necklines, puffed sleeves and empire waistlines. They carried car-ried white basket of fresh mums in shades of orchid to purple, gypsophila and fern with purple ribbons. ' The bride's grandmother, Mrs. Emma Whitmore, was in attendance. at-tendance. She wore a dress of green and white jersey and wore a corsage of pink carnations. car-nations. Best man was Patric Elmore El-more of El Paso, Tex. Ushers were Gary Lesslng and Sam Prnirh. Attending the guest book was Miss Donna Abrams cf Price. Special attendants at the gift table were Misses Nicole Ni-cole and Tracy Kelling of Moab. They were dressed in orchid peasant blouses and floor length skirts of royal purple velveteen. The wedding cake, a special gift to the bride, was made by Mrs. Mary Mae Nelson. The cake was designed by Mrs. Nelson and stood three tiers tall. It was all white in the tradition of the bride's family and was decorated in fresh pink roses. Decorations for the reception recep-tion and dinner were designed and created by Mrs. Dorothy Hanson and Mrs. Velma Lund-gren. Lund-gren. They were assisted (by Mrs. Rosy Wright. The hall was decorated in an abundance abund-ance of fresh gladiolas, shasta daisies and purple spider mums. The . banquet tables featured sets of white doves and tall purple candles. They were set In nests of garden ivy and summer flowers. The buffet buf-fet tables were graced by three matching candelabrums. Mrs. Lois McConnel arranged arrang-ed the brides trousseau. Mrs. Max Webb was assisted in the kitchen by Mrs. "Esther Perry and Mrs. Richard Dover. For her going away outfit, the bride wore a lime green pants suit of polyester crepe and floor length, white lace coat, which she fashioned 'herself. 'her-self. A special gift for the bride was tatted white handkerchief hand-kerchief made by Mrs. Christy Bradshaw. The bride and groom honeymooned honey-mooned in Las Vegas, Nev., New Mexico, Texas and Mexico. Mexi-co. ' Out of town guests were: M-. and Mrs. Phil Stewart of unnyvale, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Fowles, Mr .and Mrs Gerald R. Lesslng, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Whitmore, and Mrs. Emma Whitmore and their families from Salt Lake City. Mrs. Emily Miner and Mrs. Ellen Anderson of Springvllle; Mr. and Mrs. Dale Lott and Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Lott of Caldwell, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Smith of Green River. From Moab came Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kelling, Mrs. Dorothy McEeth, and families, Mrs. Feel Zohner and Mr. Kelvin Zohner from Las Vegas, Nev. The bride is a graduate of the Cedar City Schools. She also graduated from Southern Utah State College where she was active in music circles, a member of Chi Sigma Upsilon and Vice President of her Senior Sen-ior class. She has since attended at-tended Utah State University where she did graduate work. She is presently employed by Grand County School District. She Is also affiliated with Ep-silon Ep-silon Sigma Alpha International. Interna-tional. Mr. Huffman g r a d uated from La Grange High School in Lake Charles La. He then served a tour of duty and schooling with the U. S. Navy. He is presently employed as a civilian by the United States Government and Dept. of the Army at the White Sands Missile Mis-sile Range, Utah Launch Complex. |
