Show B. Glenn Kenney, church and civic leader succumbs; services Friday Fonjam:n Glenn Kenney, 79, filed at his residence in Cedar City Monday, July 17, of cancer. iW'v-i B. GLENN KENNY He was born February 19, 1893 in Holden, Millard County to Benjamin and Harriet Ellen Nixon Kenney. He married Vil-ate Vil-ate Stephenson, September 20, 1916 in the Manti LDS Temple. Mr. Kenney graduated from the Commercial Department cf BY High School in 1917. He was assistant cashier of the Fillmore bank in 1919 and cashier from 1929 to 1932. In 1932 he worked for the Federal Reserve Bank in Salt Lake Ctiy while living in Parowan. Then he worked for the Federal Fed-eral Land Bank of Berkley which later was changed to the National Farm Loan Assn., from 1935 to 1960 while he was living in Cedar City. He retired after 25 years of service in 1960 from the National Na-tional Farm Loan Assn., after which he was temporarily employed by that firm. Active In civic affairs he served from 1922 to 1924 on the Fillmore City Council. In 1951 through 1956 he was a member of the Iron County School Board. He has also served as treasurer of the Cedar City Rotary Club and was a member of Escalante Knife and Fork Club. He served in many capacities capa-cities of leadership in the LDS Church. He served two missions. mis-sions. The first was 1913 to 1915 in South Africa and the second was to the North Central Cen-tral States 1961 to 1963. He served as President of the YM-MIA YM-MIA in Fillmore. Twice he was a Bishops Counselor, of the Fillmore Second Ward and the Cedar Third Ward. He served in the Millard Stake Presidency from-1930 1932 and was Stake YMMIA officer. From "1946 to 1960 has was a memlber of the Cedar Stake High Council. He served as Indian Branch Finance clerk and was welfare Farm finance clerk In Cedar City from 1963 to 1971. He was a temple ordinance or-dinance worker from February 10 1971 to the present. Survivors include his wife, Cedar City; two daughters and four sons Mont Glen, and Karl Benjamin, both of Salt Lake City; Earl Stephenson and Mrs. Norman (Veda Ellen) El-len) Adams, both of Cedar City, Mrs. Walker E. (Nana) Roberts, Portland, Ore. and Blair S., Redlands, Calif. Also surviving are 28 grandchildren grand-children and six great-grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Don Earl Bountiful; George Well, Holden; Hol-den; Mrs. LeRoy (Alta Lucile) Christ ensen, ElMonte, Calif. |
