Show Sunshine group to give benefit concert Zion Park Stake MIA and Stake Mission are sponsoring an evening of dancing and entertainment fun at Mur-dock Mur-dock Pioneer Museum and Springdale Amphitheatre, Friday, Fri-day, August 18. A concert featuring "The Saturday Sunshine" will be-gin be-gin at 8:30 in Springdale Amphitheatre. Am-phitheatre. Selections from the group's recent Vietnam U.S.O. tour together with many new and original popular pop-ular numbers will highlight the evening. After the concert, con-cert, this group of BYU students stu-dents will then play for a three hour dance on the large cement amphitheatre stage to round out their benefit performance! per-formance! Tickets will be available through the Stake MIA and Seventies. Any other area groups (such as St. George and Cedar City or other communities, com-munities, wards or stakes) interested in joining the activities act-ivities are encouraged to contact con-tact Tom Hosklns, President of Zion Park Stake MIA, 635-4414 635-4414 or President Harold Hin-ton, Hin-ton, President of the Zion Park Stake Mission. The proceeds of the concert and dance will be used to develop de-velop a Visitor's Center at Springdale in close proximity to Zion National Park. Fund are needed to complete tourist tour-ist information and "Mormon Story" projects already underway under-way as well as to create an audio-visual library and ; displays dis-plays that will give visiting tourists an insight Into the historic and cultural influence influ-ence of the Mormon people in this region. Much of that history his-tory is already on display at Murdock Pioneer Museum. Many pioneer relics from several of Central and Southern South-ern Utah's historic towns compliment com-pliment the frontier ' setting of Murdock and part of the evening's entertainment will include an opportunity for concert-dance vistors to stroll leisurely through some of Utah's history and re-live a few of the experiences captured cap-tured in the reality of authentic authen-tic buildings and equipment. "The ' Friendly Store" in Murdock's collection of rough hewn buildings was secured in Beaver. Scipio and Monroe together with many Sevier and Long Valley communities are major contributors of Implements, Im-plements, carriages and old buildings now on display. Millard County, Sanpete, Iron and Kane Counties all have significant historical contributions contri-butions In this collection. An old saloon from the outskirts out-skirts of Ephraim has been converted into an ice cream and Sarasaparilla refreshment center. Concert-dance guests will also be able to secure reservations re-servations for dinner prior to the concert, If desired, at any of three restaurants In Spring-dale. Spring-dale. The restaurant owners have agreed to contribute a substantial portion of proceeds pro-ceeds from participating dinner din-ner guests to the project. Anyone interested In an evening ev-ening of entertainment and recreation is invited to this special occasion in Springdale. Tickets may be purchased from any Zion Park Stake Seventy or Stake MIA executive. execu-tive.
