Show Water Resources Board to meet here The Utah Board of Water Resources has accepted the invitation in-vitation of local officials to tour water-related facilities in Iron County, Cedar City and the surrounding area on August Aug-ust 3rd and 4th. The regular monthly meeting meet-ing of the Board will be held in the Library at Southern Utah State College in Cedar City on Friday, August 4, 1972, beginning at 1:00 p.m. With increases in water demands de-mands for municipal and other purposes, and the local ground-water supplies being depleatcd, the State Board is particularly interested in see-in see-in first-hand, and learning of the various water supply possibilities available to Cedar City and Iron County in general, according to R. El-pin El-pin (Jardner, Chairman of the Board. The planned tour includes stops on the Sevier River system, sys-tem, inspection of Navajo Lake and Duck Creek, and a trip to Kolob Reservoir. Cedar 'City officials are expected to show the visitors the present sources of Cedar City water supply. Since its inspection, the (Continued on Page 2.) , Water Resources . . (Continued from Front Pg.) Board has helped to construct over 290 projects conserving more than 300,000 acre-feet of water ach year, and affecting approximately 40 of all the irrigated lands in Utah. Of special local interest are Kolob Dam, New Castle Reservoir, Re-servoir, and Gunlock Dam. The Board is expected to commit funds at the Friday meeting in the amount of $295,000 as .part of the construction con-struction cost of the Miners-ville Miners-ville pipeline project which will begin this summer. Daniel F. Lawrence, Director for the Board and the head executive ex-ecutive officer of the State Division Di-vision of Water Resources, will present matters of business and reports at the meeting, and Senator Dixie Leavitt will stpeak to the Board regarding regional water problems in southern Utah.
