Cedar City Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the Cedar City-Lions City-Lions Club, Panguitch Chamber of Commerce and the Five County Association advertising commit tee1 prepare steaks at Duck Creek campground for members of German Parliament and their families on tour in southern Utah area. German officials tour southern Utah area Members of the German Parliament and their families toured Color Country July 25, 26, and 27. The group arrived at Duck Creek Campground on Tuesday evening and were hosted with a steak dinner under the direction of .the Cedar Ce-dar City Lions Club, Cedar City Chamber ot Commerce, Panguitch Chamber of Commerce Com-merce and the 5 County Association As-sociation Advertising Com mittee. Following the dinner the 5 County Association Advertising Ad-vertising Committee, under the direction of Jim Gilliami presented each of the German families with a packet of information in-formation concerning , the Color Country. ; ! ' volf'Tang Schwabe, a German Ger-man . Statesman , and representative repre-sentative for . the group, expressed ex-pressed thanks for hospitality that had been shown to their group. He also presented gold medallions, in cummemora-tion cummemora-tion of. the Olympics to be f heid In Munich, to Ted Cox, President of the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce and Bud Chamberlain, president of the ' Cedar City Lions Club. Schwabe also presented a collection col-lection of European Stamps to Darryl Schramm and Reed Thompson of Cedar City. The German Statesmen and their families are ,touring the United States with "Caravan America Open House U.S.A." A program , funded by ' the Wally Byam Foundation in an effort to promote international understanding. The group toured Bryce Canyon, Zion Canyon, Cedar Breaks, and the Cedar City area before going on to Salt Lake City. |
