Show I Information Given : About Selective Service Q.: My classification of I-A has now gone forward on appeal. - Can I be ordered to report for induction before the Appeal Board acts on my case? i Ans.:" No. An Order to , Report for Induction will not be issued either during the period afforded a registrant to take an appeal or during the period an appeal is pend- i ingl " I Q.: What is the minimum ' time I have after I receive my "Order to Report for In-! duction" before I must report? i Ans.: Selective Service reg-; ulations provide that the date specified for reporting for in-I in-I duction shall be at least 10 days after the date on which the Order to Report for In- j duction (SSS Form 252) is mailed to the registrant by j his local board. j ; O.: Can an Order to Report for Induction ever be post-i post-i poned by my local board, and if so, for what reasons? j Ans.: The local board may postpone an Order to Report for Induction in case of the death of a member of the registrant's immediate family, extreme emergency involving ; a member of the registrant's immediate family, serious illness ill-ness of the registrant, or other extreme emergency beyond the registrant's control. Q.: What facts are con- 1 sidered by the local board in determining a registrant's classification? Ans.: Classification is determined de-termined solely on the basis of the official forms of the Selective Service System and such other written information as may be contained in a registrant's reg-istrant's file. Oral information informa-tion should be summarized in writing and placed in the registrant's reg-istrant's file. Q.: I want my attorney to go with me when. I have my personal appearance before the local board. Must I file his name with the local board clerk in advance? Ans.: It is not permissible for him to go with you in that Selective Service regulations provide that no registrant may be represented before the local board by anyone acting as attorney or legal counsel. Q.: When a registrant or other person is given a certain cer-tain number of days to furnish furn-ish information or perform some other duty, on what day does the time begin to run? Ans.: The period of days allowed a registrant or other person to perform an act or H duty required of him shall gj be counted as beginning on i the day following that on B which the notice to him is 3 posted or mailed.
