Show City Culinary Water Well to Be Tested This Week A test is being made this week of the well which has been drilled during the past two months for the purpose of supplying water for the I Parowan City culinary system, according to Mayor Ralph Orton. Or-ton. The well is located on the southeast corner of town just south of the Mitchell Lumber Co. mill. Making the test for the City is the Rhodes Bros. Drilling Co. of Cedar City and actual i testing was to begin Wednes-1 day. The drilling of the well was done by the Stevens Drillers Dril-lers of Fillmore and they finished fin-ished their work and pulled out some time ago. The drilling drill-ing company encountered an Igneous rock bed when they got down 340 feet and couldn't could-n't go any further by reason of continually losing their tools in the hole. ? The well casing was therefore there-fore plugged at 183 feet and the pipe perforated to that point. The Mayor states that at this time the water level in the well stands at 103 feet. 1 The testing period will be for( about 60 hours, or until the water clears up to show a full test. Following the testing, and' if . sufficient water is brought forth to justify it, plans will be made to put the well in the city water lines as a supplemental sup-plemental supply for that now coming from sources in Parowan Paro-wan Canyon. |
