Show Deer Present Traffic Problem During Winter Months Larry Eyre, Iron County conservation con-servation officer of the Utah Fish and Game Dept., calls attention this week to the annual problem of deer on the highways during the winter months. Each year during the winter deer, particularly at night time, leave the mountains and cross to the valleys and in the process cross many of the major highways, high-ways, particular U.S. 91. Eyre pointed out that today 163 deer are known to have been killed on Highway 91 between Kanarraville and Paragonah during dur-ing 1963. Residents are also advised that it is unlawful to tae, transport trans-port or have in their posession any highway killed deer. Persons picking up deer, killed in this manner, are subject to arrest and fine. The problem of deer on the highway is compounded during the winter months. Extra caution cau-tion is needed, he pointed out. |
