Show Redmen at Home Against Richiield It Is back home this week for the Redmen after suffering a pall of losses In Nevada to open the 1963 basketball season. Coach Richard Hobbs will bring tiie Redmen to the College of Southern Utah fieldhouse Friday Fri-day evening for a contest against highly tauted Richfield to give fans their first look at the squad this season. The game Is set for 8 p.m. Saturday night the Redmen stay in their own back yard, but travel to Parowan where they will meet the Parowan High School Rams. . Coach Hobbs expects to get a real test for his Redmen against the Richfield quintet Friday night. Fans can oyepect to see a num ber of boy In action. Expected to start in the center cent-er position is senior Lee Hunter, Hunt-er, who has been moved from forward this season by Coach Hobbs. Backing up Hunter will be Junior Fred Esplin and Kent Humpherys. Potentially one of the top scorers for the Redmen this season sea-son will not be seen In this series ser-ies after suffering an injury in the first game against Moapa Valley. He is Don Reld. Reid, a guard, tanked 16 points in two and one-half quarters against the Nevada team before suffering suffer-ing a knee injury that may keep him out throughout the pre-sea-son schedule. As a result Coach Hobbs finds himself short on the guard line. Bruce Holmes, a sopohomore, and junior John Black, are expected to get the starting call. Another guard, Mike Carr, Is still on the injured list from football. Wes Roberts, one of the veter- ans on the squad will probably get a starting call on the forward line, Joe Ward, a transfer trans-fer to Cedar High this year, will be going at the other forward slot He will be backed up by Collin Watson, and Sandy Webster. |
