Show I 1964 Fishing Season To Open Week Early May 30, 19J has been circled as the opening day for Utah anglers ang-lers by the five-man Fish and Game Commission, setting something some-thing of a precedent. Normally the general fishing season opens on the first Saturday Satur-day in June, which falls on June 6 this year. To follow this pattern pat-tern would mean cutting the sea son one week short, the Commission Commis-sion pointed out, hence the May 30 opening. The general season will close Nov. 30, 1961. Upon recommendations of the department's fisheries division the Commission adopted a few minor changes in the general regulations. Bag limits remain the same except for Walleye Pike taken from the Provo River. Next year the angler will be allowed only two fish on this water Instead of the five fish limit applicable elsewhere In the State. The other few changes were minor, except for the special agreements that were necessary in the bl-state management of the new fishing waters, Flaming Gorge and Lake Powell. The Commission decided to publish these separately n appendages to the general proclamation. The complete proclamation will be available from all department depart-ment of Fish and Game offices around Jan. 1, 1964, when they go Into effect. |
