Show Funeral Services Pay I Tribute to I Asphyxiation Victim j Funeral services were conduct ed Tuesday afternoon in the Ce- , dar Third Ward chapel for Mrs. ' Florence Burnham Fife, 65. Mrs. Fife died at her home at 473 West 200 North, with her death caused by carbon monoxide monox-ide gas fumes escaping from a coal furnace. She was discovered early Sunday morning by her husband. Wilford Fife. Mr. Fife, owner of the Crossroads Cross-roads Service in the Escalante Valley, had been at the store Saturday and Saturday night, returning re-turning to their Cedar City home Sunday. Upon his arrival he discovered dis-covered his wife, who had been overcome during the night while sleeping. Mrs. Fife Is well known in Cedar Ce-dar City having operated a beau- , ty salon from 1925 to 1935 and 1 having participated In numerous activities both here and in the Escalante Valley. She was born Aug. 19, 1894, In Clendale to George A. and Sarah Clark Burnham. She married Wilford R. Fife Feb. 12, 1913 in Cedar City. She Is survived by her hus-i hus-i band; a son, Furl G., Las Vegas; Nev.; two brothers. Frank Burn ham, Fallan, Nev.; Karl Burnham, Burn-ham, Ketchakan, Alaska; four sister, Mrs. Dee Freeman, Los Angels, Calif.; Mrs. Maleta, Clckenson, Salt Lake City! Mrs. Gertrude Brown, El Segarda, Calif, and Mrs. Cora . Munson, Seattle; and two grandchilden Services were conducted by Bp. LaNoir Jones. Prayer at the mortuary mor-tuary prior to the service was also by Bishop Jones. Prelude and postlude music was by Margaret Webster. Speakers" at the services included in-cluded Win. H. Manning and Samuel F. Leigh. Musical numbers included a vocal duet by Mr. and Mrs. Howard How-ard Wood, "In the Garden," accompanied ac-companied by Reed Berrett; a vocal vo-cal solo by Raymond Munford, "Open the Gates to the Temple," accompanied by Carol Lou Munford; Mun-ford; a vocal solo by Herschel Neeley, "My Task," accompanied accompan-ied by Mr.. Berrett Invocation was by Parson U. Webster; benediction by Blaine Stapley and the dedication of the grave at the Cedar City cemetery cem-etery by Horace Hall. |
