Show Student Teachers Y ork in Parowan Grades j There are several new faces among the teaching staff at the Parowan Elementary School, beginning be-ginning the first of the week. The new people are teacher trainees who. will work In the elementary grades for the next several weeks, says Mrs. Fae N. Benson of that faculty group. Miss Arlene Tuft of Monroe, a student from the College of Southern Utah, is working with Fae N. Benson In the local kindergarten. kin-dergarten. Miss Tuft has been at CSU for three years and Utah State University for one year. She also plays the accordion and participates In all school activities. activi-ties. Another CSU student is Miss Loma Lovell of Leamington, Utah. She is working In the first grade with Louise Mortensen. She states that she "is very excited ex-cited about my student teaching teach-ing here in Parowan. The students stu-dents and teachers are so friendly friend-ly and nice. With each day comes new growth and development develop-ment and I just love my work with Mrs. Mortenseji," Miss Cleo Tullls of Newcastle is working with Zona Topham in her first grade. Miss Tullls Is a daughter of Stirling and Mildred Tullls of Newcastle. She is a graduate of Cedar City High School and Is now in her senior year ai College of Southern Utah. She states that she is enjoying her student training In the Parowan Paro-wan school with Mrs. Topham. Bruce Dewey of Washington, Utah, also in his senior year at College of Southern Utah, is now working with Miriam Lister In the third grade of the Parowan school. Jerold Oldroyd of Glenwood, Sevier County Is working with Chester Benson in a mixed fifth and sixth grade. He is a graduate of the Richfield High School and Is majoring in elementary education edu-cation at CSU. He is married to May Dene Torgersen and they have one child, a girl. Roger Bryan of Kanarravllle is working with George Williams In the Parowan sixth grade. He is also an elementary major finishing fin-ishing his work at CSU this year. |
