Show Prominent Sawmill Operator Dies, Funeral Services Held Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon last week for John William Benson, Parowan Paro-wan sawmill operator for many years, In the Third Ward chapel at 2 p. m. with Marvin Graff of the ward bishopric conducting. Speakers were Ancil J. Adams and F. C Van Buren, with opening open-ing remarks by Bishop Graff. The opening prayer was by Jess W. Guymon, the benediction was pronounced by Harrell Dalton, and the grave In Parowan City cemetery was dedicated by William Wil-liam Marsden. The prayer at the home of Mrs. Nellie Green where the body lay prior to the services, was offered by Mario Topham. A double mixed quartet consisting con-sisting of Will Marsden, Pres. Howard D. Knight, Bertrude and Alice Mitchell, Berta Dalton, Shirley Evans, Harold Mitchell and Heber Gurr, sang "Rock of Ages," as the opening song and "The Beautiful Country," to close iiltr acriVacca, auu oOit "Whim pering Hope," was sung by Mary Dawn Dalton and Agatha Benson. Ben-son. Mary Lyman accompanied all musical numbers, and Itha Mortensen was at the organ for prelude and postlude music. |
