Show Day Camp Activity Held by Girl Scouts Over 75 Girl Scouts and their leaders from the Navajo Lake Neighborhood in Cedar City, participated par-ticipated in a three-day "Day Camp" at Wood's Ranch Camp Ground In Cedar Canyon. The Day Camp was the first to be staged by the Cedar City organization or-ganization and will become an annual event, leaders indicated. The Girl Scouts were broken up into four units at the Day Camp for organized activities under un-der the general direction of Mrs. Keith Workman, camp director and Mrs. Harold Ashworth, business busi-ness manager. Unit 1 was under the direction of Connie Davis, Reta Esplin, Alva Bird and Gene Jubal. Directing Di-recting Unit 2 were Louise Savage Sa-vage and Charlene Reynolds with Mary Robertson and Elsa Wood in charge of Unit 3. Unit 4 directors direc-tors were Marcele Topham, Donna Don-na Milne and 11a Robinson. ' Girls and their leaders met at the camp Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a. m. to ( 3 p. m. I The agenda called for a get ' acquainted gathering, prepara tion of Duty charts and general camp organization on the first day. On Wednesday, the units participated in organized two hour hikes and returned to camp for handicrafts which includes some unusal work with leather-craft, leather-craft, fairydough, leaf printing and nature handicraft from ma- I terials gathered at the area. , On the third day of the camp, the annual cook-out was enjoyed with some exceptionally fine meal preparations, on a unit basis. The camp was concluded with recreation games. The camp leaders extended their thanks to all those who as-sited as-sited in the camp out in furnishing fur-nishing transportation, leadership leader-ship and other materials to make the event successful. The Navajo Lake Neighborhood is a division of the Utah Council of the Girl Scouts of America and includes all troops in Cedar City. Most of the units were made up from one to three troops within the city, it was stated. |
