Show Reserve Officer Gains Service Recognition An assistant professor at the College of Southern Utah has been named the Outstanding Reserve Re-serve Officer of the 9124th Air Reseivc Squadron for the year 1900-61. Captain Kent E. Myers, Commander of the Air Fore? Reserve Re-serve Flight in Cedar City, has been awarded the Citation for Outstanding Reserve Officer. The 9421th Air Reserve Squad ron is comprised of Flights in Vernal. Price, Richfield, Cedar City and Provo, Utah with headquarters head-quarters in Provo. Captain Myers has been a member of the Cedar City Flight since its very beginning and has had an outstanding record while serving as its commander. A part of the citation forwarded to Captain Cap-tain Myers reads as follows: "As flight commander he attended promptly to administrative matters mat-ters pertinent to the operation of his unit, and also important to the welfare and development of the members of his command. "He developed helpful public relation for the Air Force Reserve Re-serve through appropriate publicity publi-city In the local newspaper and radio station in Cedar City. He maintained an exemplary record of attendance at Flight training assemblies and Group training conferences." "Captain Myers has voluntarily contributed much time, talent, and enthusiastic service in the Air Reserve program, and is a most worthy recipient of this honor." Captain Myers is an assistant football coach and an ass.slant professor of English as well as Coordinator of Auditorium Activities Acti-vities at CSU. He received his Bachelor's Degree from CSU and his Master's Degree from BYU. He is currently completing doctoral doc-toral studies at the University of Utah. |
