Show Iron County School District Announces Institutes, Workshops The Iron County School District Dis-trict Voeat'onal Workshop and Training period began Monday, August 9, under the direction of the New Iron County Vocational Director, Mr. Duane Van Ausdal. This workshop comes under the new vocational program of the Iron County .Schools. It is supported sup-ported by state and federal funds. The annual Iron County Administrators' Ad-ministrators' workshop has been scheduled for August 17, at the College of Southern Utah Cabin in Cedar Canyon. This workshop precedes the fall State Administrator's Adminis-trator's Conference which this year is being held on August 19 and 20. The fall institute for teachers has been scheduled for August 24 and 25 at the Parowan Elementary Elem-entary School. Many distinguished distinguish-ed guests have been invited to make the institute an outstanding out-standing success. Dr. Richard Brown will work with elementary teachers and the secondary math people in the area of mathematics. mathema-tics. Specialists from the Utah State Department of Public Instruction In-struction will include: Miss Af-ton Af-ton Forsgren, Mr. Jed Wasden, i Mr. Robert Leake, and Mr. Richard Rich-ard Peterson. A highlight of the second day will feature Dr. John H. Starie, Director of Field Services, for the National Education Association. Associa-tion. Mr. L. C. Miles Jr. will also al-so be on hand to discuss the new insurance progam. August 24 will be spent in departmental tvDe meetines. and Au crust 26 in discussing the roles and responsibilities re-sponsibilities of educators. August Aug-ust 26 and 27 will be spent in the orientation of new teachers and preparatory work by all other personnel. School will begin be-gin August 30. |
