Show Football Coach Announces 8-Game Schedule; Season Sessions Get Under Way August 23 An eight game schedule including in-cluding two practice games was announced today by Hal Norton, coach of the Cedar High football team. The Redmen wil 1 open the season with a practice game against Delta at Delta on September Sep-tember 10 and will move into league play the following week when they take on the Milford Tigers at Cedar City in a game to be played under the lights at the CSU Thunderbird stadium. Coach Norton has set Saturday, August 21 as the date to issue equipment to boys interested in participating in football this fall and practice sessions will begin on Monday August 23. Equipment Equip-ment issue has been set for 6 p. m. the coach stated. Following is a rundown of the Redmen schedule for the year: Sept. 10: Cedar at Delta, night. Sept. 17: Milford at Cedar, night. Sept. 24: Overton, Nev. at Cedar, Ce-dar, night. Oct. 1: Cedar at Hurricane, night. Oct. 8: UEA, no games scheduled. sche-duled. Oct. 15: Beaver at Cedar, night. Oct. 22: Cedar at Dixie, night. (May be held on Thursday Oct. 21, owing to deer season.) Oct. 29: Parowan at Cedar, night, (weather permitting). Nov. 5: Cedar at Kanab, 2:30 p. m. Defending champions of Region Eight are the Kanab Cowboys and Beaver placed second in the standings this past year. However, Howev-er, Coach Norton expects his toughest competition this year from the Washington County teams of Hurricane and Dixie. The Redmen will have a number num-ber of returning men led by veteran vet-eran fullback David Jensen.
