Show Contract on Hangar Awarded by City The City Council accepted the bid of the Utah System Builders of Salt Lake City for the installation instal-lation of footings and foundation founda-tion for a T-Hangar at the Cedar Ce-dar City Municipal Airport Friday. Fri-day. The company already has the contract for construction of the Hangar. . Construction work on the hangar was started earlier this month and the footings and the foundation had been completed when it was decided that the location of the hangar on the airport should be changed. This necessitated the call for new bids for footings and foundation. The hangar was originally lo-cated lo-cated at a point east of the taxi-strip taxi-strip and In line with the south lend of the strip. After work had jbeen started It was decided that the hangar should be located nearer to the administration building and other facilities. As I a result the foundation Just com pleted was abandoned, for the present at least, although it may be used some time in the future when additional hangar space may be needed. The Utah System Builders Co. bid was for $2,684. Two other bids were receied, . oui from Blackburn Black-burn and Gower, Cedar Cty, for $3145, and one from H. J. Delan-ey, Delan-ey, Cedar City, for 3350. The Utah System builders had contracted to" complete the building In 45 working days, and since work is now to be restarted at a new location, the company I was given the same time limit, starting Dec. 23, when the new contract was signed. After discontinuance of work on the building, and pending ,contralng for the new foundation, founda-tion, the city cleared the ground at the new location so that construction con-struction could start immediately ! after the contract was let |
