Show Spring Clothing Drive Announced by Presbyterian Women The United Presbyterian Women's Wo-men's Association of the Community Com-munity Presbyterian Church is holding its annual spring clothing cloth-ing drive throughout the month of May. From victims of warfare I and natural disasters come ur gent requests each year to Church World Service warehouses warehous-es for nearly 8,000 tons of good used clothing. The Church World Service Organization is a non-denominational church service organization or-ganization whose sole purpose Is to help needy people throughout the world. This spring, when you put away your winter clothes, please sort out those In good condition that you no longer need and contribute contri-bute them to this clothing drive. Needed are all kinds of good usable us-able clothing, both warm and light. Especially needed are suits, trousers, coats, overalls, shirts, dresses, blankets, sweaters, flat-heeled flat-heeled shoes, gloves, layettes and children's garments. Not needed are hats, neckties, high-heeled shoes, bathing suits, formal garments, gar-ments, pillows, and mattresses. Clothing can be left in the church basement at 64 E. 200 N. anytime during the day, or you can have it picked up at your home by calling either Mrs. Sumner Sum-ner at 586- 6100 or Mrs. Marie Bunnell at 586-8696. These ladies will take your name and address, and arrange to have your clothes picked up at the time most convenient con-venient for you. Besides sending clothing to the Church World Service Center, part of the clothing will be kept on hand to assist needy transients coming through Cedar City. The Presbyterian Church has charge of the clothing service for the Community liaiiMenlfund, a local non-profit organization for servicing ser-vicing needy transients. |
