Show PARfcGONAH NEWS NOTES Mrs. Hihna Lamoreaux Mrs. Alice Robinson celebrated her 72nd birthday anniversary Saturday, Feb. 8th with many friends and relatives present for the occasion. Her son, Chester, and his wife spent the day with her and members of their family from Cedar City and Parowan. A sister, Mrs. Pearl McConnell was also here from Cedar City along with other relatives. Family Fa-mily members came from Parowan Paro-wan and a host of local relatives and friends called during the afternoon and evening. Vergene Jones arrived home from Salt Lake City Monday of last week to spend some time with his people, the Blaine Jones family. Mrs. Irene Robinson and a group of ladies traveled to St. George Wednesday of last week to do Temple work. Mrs. Robinson Robin-son also visited with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arch Lamoreaux for part of the day. Mrs. Coleen Clark and her sons Adrian and Darrel of Henderson, visited with relatives here on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Board-man Board-man and son, Travis, are leaving for Garrison, Nev, this week. Charles has employment in that area. Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle Mitchell ind daughter Susan and Carla Jo, and one of their friends were nere from Cedar City Sunday to visit with Mr. and Mrs. D. Amasa Stones. The Alan Stones family joined them from Parowan. The monthly D. U. P. meeting will be held on February 20th at the home of Mrs. Lula R. Bastian. Time of the meeting has been set at 2:00 o'clock. , Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Robinson have received word of a special honor awarded to their granddaughter. grand-daughter. Miss Jayne Robinson of Salt Lake City. Last month Miss Robinson was the recipient of a special "Service Award'' from her employers, an IBM firm in the capital city, for being an outstanding out-standing employee. Jayne was , given a service pin, a gold pen and pencil set. a $50 U. S. Savings Sav-ings Bond and an expense free week-long trip to New York for 1 next summer's World Fair. Jayne 1 is the daughter of Mrs. Mabel Robinson and the family formerly lived in Paragonah. Mrs. Vera Gibson and daughter, daugh-ter, Kathy, of Cedar City arrived here Saturday to spend the week end with Mrs. Elizabeth Maxwell. Max-well. They were Joined on Sunday Sun-day by Mrs. Olive Maxwell and daughter, Patsy. ' Mrs. Sarah Stones and Mrs. Lula Bastian have received word from their nelce, Miss Carol Jo Shideler, that she is enjoying her mission in New Zealand. She told of her trip there and cf seeing the Temple in Hawaii. Miss Shideler Shi-deler is stationed at Wellington, New Zealand. Mrs. Emma Dalton accompanied accompan-ied other school teachers from this area to Salt Lake City Thurs-day Thurs-day to attend some special meetings meet-ings for teachers. Mr. and Mrs. Myron Abbott, daughter, Klea, and son, Richard, traveled to Salt Lake City Friday. They visited with the Tom Abbott Ab-bott family in Murray and Myron My-ron attended meetings of the Utah State Press Convention. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Barton and daughter, Phyllis, of Melford spent Saturday here visiting with the Wilson Lunds, Mrs. Elizabeth Eliza-beth Maxwell and with some of Kenneth's people. |
