Show Former Cedar Student On Winning Wool Judging Team Richard Macfarlane, Cedar City, Ci-ty, a student at the Utah State University at Logan, was a member mem-ber of the team which took the first place trophy In the wool Judging competition at the West-em West-em National Stock Show at Denver. Den-ver. The three-member wool evaluation eval-uation team from USU included Marcarlane, John Creer, Spanish Fork, and Albert Waite, Farmington, Farm-ington, N. M. They competed against teams from ten western universities represented at the Denver show. The USU wool-judging trio thus became the only group to win possession of the trophy for a second time since Its establishment estab-lishment In 1957, said Dr. Doyle J. Matthews, assistant professor of Animal husbandry. Dr. Matthews, who accompanied accompan-ied the USU team to the Denver stock show as coach, said USU was first place winner at the 1957 show and could gain permanent per-manent possession of the trophy with one one more win. In 1958 the trophy went to Montana State College and In 1959 to Kansas State University. |
