Show Geographic Board Gives Parowan Streams New Names , According to a story which ap-peared ap-peared in the state daily papers recently the board of Geographic names has given its approvel to names for four streams in Iron county, which join to flow out of Parowan canyon into Parowan valley. Just why this has been done or what good has been accomplished ac-complished is problematical, but the following name designations have been given to the Parowan canyon streams. Bowery creek: Stream about eight miles long, flowing northeastward north-eastward through Yankee reser-voir reser-voir and then northwestward to Parowan creek. (Not Center creek, Lefthand Fork, Parowan creek or Yankee creek. Braffit fork: Stream about five miles long, flowing northward to Parowan creek. (Not Braffett fork; Braffits fork or Parowan creek). Center Creek: Stream about six miles long, flowing northwestward north-westward to Parowan creek. (Not Middle fork). Parowan creek: Stream about 18 miles long flowing northeastward northeast-ward through Parowan to Little Salt Lake. (Not Center creek, Main creek or Right hand fork Parowan creek). |
