Show Mineral Resources Dwindling Says Rotary Club Speaker The American supply of Important minerals is rapidly being used up, according to Dr. Hoover Mackln of the University of Washington at Seattle, who addressed the Rotary club at its meeting Tuesday noon, und predicted that when the supplies sup-plies art exhausted the United States will lose its position as a world leader. Dr. Mackln, who is working for Kie government during the vacation period, is doing research work in this section of the country during the summer months. In his address he told of the mineral min-eral deposits to be found in this area, and gave an interesting discussion dis-cussion of the devices now In use to locate deposits of various types of ore. The Rotarlans were also entertained enter-tained by the American Legion Auxiliary Aux-iliary trio, composed of Mrs. Ben Riddle,' Mrs. Orville Isom ahU Mrs. Kumen Gardner, who sang four numbers accompanied by Miss Ruth Corry. |
