The Elks won one game for a record of seven wins and one loss, and with two more games yet to play have a good chance of tying the cafe team for first. The El Rey trimmed the Master Singers and Jaycees on Friday and Wednesday nights with lopsided scores. The Elks walloped the Junior Jun-ior Chamber Monday 11 to 0, with Torke Nelson pitching a one-hit game. The only hit collected off his offerings was a single in the second se-cond Inning (by Ward Mlddleton. Farrell Peterson's much Improved Bradshaw Chevrolet team stole the show by appearing In the two most Interesting games of the week, losing los-ing the first one to the Junior Chamber by a score of 8 to 7, and winning from the Iron County Record Re-cord Kids Wednesday night by a score of 5 to 1 In a fast, well played game that took only fifty minutes for the full seven lnlngs. The Kids won from the Master Singers Friday night by a score of 12 to 0 In another interesting game. Three more games must be played before the first half schedule ends. The Elks and Record teams meet Friday night, with the Master Sing, ers and Bradshaw teams tangling the same night. The Elks and Master Mas-ter Singers must also meet In a postponed game. Should the Elks win both Us remaining re-maining games they will tie with the El Rey for first, and place a lot of Importance on the one remaining re-maining game, between the Master Singers and Bradshaw. A victory for the Singers In that game would give them a tie for third with the Record Kids, and drop Bradshaw into a last place tie with the Jaycees. However, a victory for Bradshaw would give the Kids third place and boost the garage team Into a tie for fourth with the Slnpcrs. If the favored Elks team should lose either or both of Its two games the final standings would be Juggled , considerably. |
