Show Boy Scouts Receive Regional Award Utah scouts stake in the winning win-ning of the 1948 R. B. Hale senior sen-ior scouting trophy is cited in certificates received from the Boy Scouts of America region 12 headquarters in Los Angeles, according ac-cording to Rulon W. Doman, chief executive, Utah National Tarks council, B S A. The trophy, which also was won by the region In national competition in 19-17, is given to the region Judged to have had the most varied, interesting and expansive senior scouting program pro-gram said Mr. Doman. An increase oi more than 200 members in senior scouting was achieved in the Utah National Parks council in 1948. Number of units rose from 112 to 129. Council activities during the past year have included parti-clpation parti-clpation in an air scout encampment, encamp-ment, Colorado river trips, and a sea scout rendezvous; plans for 1949 activities include a forthcoming ski trek, basketball tourney, several river trips, and a council camporal, the latter set for May. |
