Show Lions Hear Discussion Of Political Affairs "The People, The Government and the United Nations" was the subject of discussion at the meeting meet-ing of the Lions club Monday, with three Political Science professors pro-fessors from the University of Utah as speakers. Dr. C O. Lerche maintained that while many obstacles had been encountered, the United Nations Na-tions organization offers the greatest hope for the maintenance mainten-ance of peace in the world. Dr. S. Grover Rich, Jr., speaking on the nation's foreign policy, urged urg-ed the members of the club to remember that our foreign policy poli-cy is being formulated in the face of greatly changed conditions condi-tions over anything the nation has encountered before. Dr. O. Meridlth Wilson, criticized the individual for any feeling that individuals or groups have no influence in-fluence on governmental affairs, and urged the club and its members mem-bers to take an active interest in national affairs. The club members were also entertained by Douglas Knell, who played a saxophone solo, accompanied by Marilyn Pace, and Getaldlne Fakler who played a bass clorlnet solo, accompanied accompan-ied by her mother, Mrs. J. L. Fakler. |
