Bishop, has been named a commissioner in the Utah Department of Publicity and Industrial Indus-trial Development. He succeeds the late Ora Bundy. Mr. Howells studied stud-ied law at the University of Utah. In 1935 he opened the Brazilian mis sion for the L.DS. church. Later lie was named Assistant Utah Attorney At-torney General and held this position posi-tion during 1940 and 1941. In 1943 he was Utah State Director of the National Youth Administration, following fol-lowing which he was named chief of the training and utilization division div-ision in Utah for the War Manpower Man-power Commission. What Wants a Corsair Fighter Plane? Wayne county has a Corsair fighter fight-er plane they would gladly trade Tor a caterpillar tractor or bulldozer. They won the Corsair for selling more war bonds per capita than my other county in the state. They would have preferred to win a tractor, trac-tor, the second place prize, however, how-ever, as first plr.ee brought them a big fighter plane they had no earthly earth-ly use for. The Corsair is at Loa, the Coun-.y Coun-.y seat, sitting on a vacant lot for aver a year. It was flown to Salt Lake City, dismantled, and trucked '.o Loa where it was placed on exhibition. ex-hibition. Rocky Mountain Hotel Men Boost Utah: Hotel managers, operators, clerks and owners, totaling over one hundred hund-red and twenty persons representing states from New York to California became firm Utah boosters while recent guests in Utah. Following the Rocky Mountain Hotel Association convention in Salt Lake, the one hundred twenty hotel people entrained en-trained for Utah's national park attractions. at-tractions. Visiting Cedar Breaks,, Zlon Canyon, Grand Canyon, and Kanab movie locations, the visitors returned to their various states highly enthusiastic over Utah's scenic attractions. Hotel men, it must be rememberer, remember-er, are in the best possible position to boost any state's scenic attractions attrac-tions o inquiring tourists, tlons to inquiring tourists. Will Develop Water Kesourcts: During the Utah Water Users Association As-sociation Conference in Salt Lake City last week plans were laid to ask the 1947 state legislature to set up a one to two million dollar statr reclamation fund (repayable without with-out interest) for development ol Utah's water resources. It the legislature legis-lature acts favorably, it is planned to supplement the fund biennlallj until a revolving fund of severa' million dollars is available. The money, It was pointed out, would be used to supplement Federal Bureau Bur-eau of Reclamation funds and woulc enable the development of some o' the state's minor reclamation projects pro-jects such as small reservoirs and ditch linings. Two Plates for Utah Motorists: A license plate for each end oi the car will be delivered to Utah motorists next year, declares J. Lambert Gibson, Chairman of the State Tax Commission. A change in the plate slogan is also promised, Mr. Gibson said, and the words "This, Is The Place" will replace the wording "Center of Scenic America". Only passenger car plates will show the new slogan.
