Show Three More Lives Lost In Iron County Traffic Crash Three more lives were lost In a traffic accident on the highway North of Cedar City this week, bringing the total fatalities for 1946 to sixteen as compared to two during dur-ing the same period of last year. Three were killed as the result of the hcadon collision on the highway high-way about six miles north of town Sunday forenoon. Sheriff S. C. Liinib, who Investigated the accident, acci-dent, reported that the two cars crashed headon after skidding on the soft shoulders of the slippery highway. The dead arc Lavern Crowther. 46, and Raymond Crowther, 43, brothers, bro-thers, former Salt Lake City residents, resi-dents, who had been living in Los Angeles for the past few years, and Wilson Bergeron 27, also of Los Angeles. Critically injured, but reported re-ported to be recovering slowly at the Iron County hospital Is John Page Crowther, 38, brother of the two dead men. Lavern died almost instantly, but his brother lived until un-til evening. Bergeron lived until early Tuesday morning. The three Crowther brothers were enroute home after having attended attend-ed funeral services for a brother-in-law In Salt Lake City, Saturday. The bodies were taken to Los Angeles An-geles for burial. Raymond LeRoy Crowther was born Dec. 26, 1902, In Salt Lake City, Ci-ty, a son of Samuel W. and La-vinia La-vinia Page Crowther. He lived in Salt Lake City until 22 years ago. May 1. 1924. he married Mildred Rahn and they went to Los Angeles An-geles where they have lived since. He Is survived by his widow and a son, Dean Raymond, both of Los Angeles; his parents, Salt Lake City; three sisters, Mrs. Sibyl Bennett, Ben-nett, Mrs. Leona Anderson, and Mrs. Grace Dlckerson, all of Salt Lake; four brothers, Clifford V. and June L. both of Los Angeles; Jack Page Crowther. Injured, also of Los Angela, An-gela, and Blaine P. Crowther, Salt Lake. Lavern Crowther was born In Sandy. June 26, 1899, a son of Samuel Sam-uel W. and Lavlnia L. Page Crowther. Crow-ther. He was married to Mildred Ahlgreen in Salt Lhke City In 1923. Besides the survivors mentioned previously, Lavern Crowther Is survived sur-vived by his widow and five sons and daughters, Robert. William, Benjamin, Betty and Barbara Crowther, all of Los Angeles. Mr. Bergeron was born October 9. 1919, In Church Point, La., whera his body Is being taken for funeral services and burial. Survivors include his widow, Nlta Bergeron, two children and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lastle Bergeron, Ber-geron, all of Church Point. |
