This makes this week; game between the Redmen and the Cowboys the big game cf the season sea-son thus far. Coach Bernell Lewis' Kanab tean will meet the Redmen In the Cedar Ce-dar gymnasium Saturday at 7:3( P. M. in a game that will be 0' great importance to both teams and especially to the Cedar team Kanab is undefeated and it 1 doubtful if the Cowboys can bf knocked out of first place, but Ce dar needs the game to stay In sec ond place in the Regional tourna ment. Of course, a victory for Ceda-over Ceda-over Kanab, does not guarantet the Redmen second place, but it would be a big step in that dl rection, and a loss for the Redme Saturday would put them back In to a tie with the winner of th Hurricane at Enterprise game Friday Fri-day night. Cedar plays Dixie a St. George Friday night, and al-thou al-thou they will be favored tc !Win, an upset could occur and in that event a victory over Kanak would be a "must" If Ballej's tean Is to stay In the race, j Cedar defeated Dixie early in tne season, 28 to 11, but Enterprlsr beat Cedar, and Dixie trimmec Enterprise, so anything can hap pen Friday night. Past perform ances give Kanab an edge over Ce dar, since the Cowboys have no been defeated in seven starts, an' one of those games was a 30 to 2' victory over Cedar. The game wa? played In Kanab a month ago wher the Redmen were not in the bes of shape, and supporters of th' local team are hoping that bette condition and the home floor wll" make it possible for Cedar to stage an upset. In other games last week, Kanab and Enterprise each trimmed Orderville, Or-derville, and Dixie walked ovei Parowan 40 to 19. The schedule of games this week is as follows: Friday Kanac at Parcwan, Cedar at Dixie, Hur-icane Hur-icane at Enterprise. Saturday. Ka-at Ka-at Cedar, Parowan at Hurricane. Hurri-cane. I |
