Show Wildlife Federation Lays Plans For Year's Activities Jim Urle, newly elected president of the Cedar City Wlldlile Federation, Feder-ation, announces that in order to get association activities underway imn.i'diately a number of standing committees have been appointed. Don Draper, who served as Secretary Sec-retary for the past year under president pres-ident J. E. Warren, was reappointed reappoint-ed to that position, and the following fol-lowing committees named: Big' Game: Herb Milne, chairman, chair-man, Glen Heaton, Scott Day. Birds: Frank Milne, chairman, Ace Terry, Clinton Milne, Claude Macfarlane. Fish: Roy Birrell, chairman, Reed Henderson, Clem Judd. Recreation: Homer Jones, chairman, chair-man, A. B. Larson, Lee Listen. Range and Stream Improvement: Improve-ment: Claude Macfarlane, chalr-nmn, chalr-nmn, Jim Ellis, Mel Cowley. Membership: J. E. Warren, chairman, chair-man, H. M. Endsley, Ace Terry. Claude Macfarlane, Fred Howard, C. J. Wasmuth, Marvin Jones, Lew Arnold, Graham McDonald, Arnold Anderson, Jim Urle, Don Draper, Lloyd Allen, Oren Taylor, Lanell Lunt. The membership will be started early next week, according to J. Warren, committee chairman, with 500 members set as a goal this year. Steps will be taken Immediately to start the pheasant brooding program. pro-gram. Vice president Oren Taylor will be in charge of securing as many brooders as possible, In order that a large number of day-old pheasants may be secured for brooding and later liberation In' Cedar Valley. An attempt will also' be made to keep the pheasants un-l til they are mature enough to as-1 sure a larger percent of survival, before they are liberated in the val-: ley. In the past the pheasants have been turned Into the fields' when eight weeks old, and the Federation Federa-tion members feel that too great a loss has resulted. I |
