Show Funeral Services Held In Hurricane For George Stevens Funeral services were conducted 9 in Hurricane Monday for Oeorge I Thomas Stevens, 77, cattleman and 1 farmer, who died Friday. He was a resident of Cedar City for about 1 three years from 1925 to 1928, dur- 1 ing which time he operated the H Stevens Apartments here. The body Ej was brought here for burlul fol- fl lowing the services In Hurricane. H He was born In Holden, June 13, 1864, a son of Albert and Letty M Kee Stevens. He worked on some of the largest cattle ranches in the state. He went to Wayne county in 1883 where he married Cynth'a L. McClellan of Loa on May 7. 1888. In 1895 he moved to Salina where he lived for a number of years after af-ter which he moved to Utah county, residing in Goshen and Provo. In 1920 he moved to Hurricane where he developed a large farm and fruit ranch. He lived In Cedar City 3 years prior to the death of his wife in 1928, after which he returned to Salina. He married Mrs. Sarah Ann Long at Salina in 1930 and was visiting In Hurricane at the time of his death. He is survived by his widow, two daughters, Mrs. William S. Wright of Charleston, Mrs. Ruby Madsen Pace of Cedar City; and two sons, Hugh A. Stevens of Altonah and George E. Stevens of Hurricane. |
