Show I Beautiful Wedding Rites Unite Couple P. r feci detail and exquisite appointments ap-pointments marked the lovely Spring wedding on Sunday afternoon after-noon of Miss Carmen Leigh, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Webster Leigh of Cedar City, and Major Harold Lyle Hlner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Hlner of Phoenix, Arizona. The beautiful double-ring ceremony cere-mony was held at the L. D. S. Institute In-stitute which was decorated with white gladioli and potted palms, and lighted with white tapers in brass candelabras. President David L. Sargent performed the ceremony which was preceded by appropriate music. The bride, given In marriage by her father, wore a white silk net wedding dress made with full ski'i and fitted bodice and long train Her elbow length veil had a julie. cap held in place with a lace halo Her bouquet was a white satin muff adorned with red roses, and whit swretpeas entwined the satin streamers which were tied at th end with red roses. All of the attendants' dresses were made alike of pink and aqua blue net. They wore caps to match, and carried nosegays of rosrs and sweet -peas. The maid of honour wa: Jacqueline Leigh, only sister of the brld, and the brldemalds were Fern and Jean Leigh who are the wives of Richard and Hamblln. brothers of the bride. Tiny Eliza -bth Ann Leigh was the flowei girl and she was dressed In white The bridegroom was in full dresr uniform of the United States Mar-Vie Mar-Vie Corps and wore the prized Navy Cross decoration. His best man wsr his brother-in-law, Mr. Brt Johnson John-son of Phoenix. The ushers were Forrest and Austin Jonei. The bridal coupl are outstanding outstand-ing graduates of the Utah State Agricultural College where thev won numerous honors and awards. Following the cermony three hundred, guests attended th? reception recep-tion which was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Cllne on 2nd West Street. Receiving at the reception recep-tion with the parents of the couple were Mrs. Gaffleld, eighty-year old grandmother of the bridegroom, who flew from St. Louis to attend the wedding; Mrs. Bert Johnson, his sister, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rich-ard Jackson of Louisiana. Others who assisted with the reception were Miss Mary Bergstrom. Mrs. Scott Geerge (Leora Petty) Mrs. Fred Boyntln (Darlene Kimball). Mrs. Leigh Lunt. Mrs. Joe Roop, Carmen Croft, Adele Bevy, Donnn Mae Wright, Blllle Leigh. Elaine Leigh, and Helen Lunt. Music foi the occasion was furnished by Mrs. Gustlve Larson, Ruth Corry, Roy Halverson, Bert Carpenter, Clivi Hartman, Forrest Hunter. Edward Sandgren. Frank Van Oott, and Robert Bradshaw. After the reception a buffet supper sup-per was served the members of the wedding party and the couple then left for their honeymoon at Zioi. Canjtnn. The bride's going-away costume was a striking black and white silk print1ress trimmed with diagonal bands of red and black. A black wool cor-t with a shiny straw hat and black accessories completed the ensemble. On their return they will leave for Phoenix to establish a home. |
