Show ' By Luclll Robert AWARD ASSEMBLY Outstanding stud.nts, assemblies, and the Senior Thespian Club Members were honored at a sp c-ial c-ial award assembly Friday, May 10. Marilyn Gadd was in charge ol the program. Stud nt and Faculty Judges were appointed to select the best assembly as-sembly of the yrar. In ord:r to refresh re-fresh their memories a representative representa-tive number from each assembly was presented. The Christmas Assembly As-sembly pres nted by the Music and Speech Department under the direction dir-ection of Mr. Edward Sandgren and Mrs. Gwyn Clark was awarded first place and received a ten dollar prize. Since thre was no one organization or person eligible to receive the prizj money, It was turned back to the student body organization to be used for incidental inci-dental expenses connected with assemblies next yar. During the program the old student stu-dent body offic.rs congratulated their successors and turned over their office to tfiiem. Mitchell Lunt. the new student presid'nt. pledged himself Into office by re-p re-p atlng the traditional oath. Lloyd Grames, the 1945-46 Cedar Hlgl School president, then presented Mitchell Lunt with the key to the school. , I Mrs. Gw.yn Clark, the Thespian Ad'lsor, awarded all senior Thespian., Thes-pian., seals and letters of recom-m recom-m ndatlon to college dramatic departments. de-partments. Mr. Bethers presented the coveted cov-eted certificates of award based on tlw point system. The following follow-ing twenty-five senior students re-c re-c ived these awards: Eugene Justct. Russel Hunt, Wesley House, Irving Irv-ing Hackett, Jackie Leigh. Lloyu Grames, Vernetta Jones, Bill Gardner. Gard-ner. Marilyn Gftdd, Lloyd Corry, Dolores Fife, Donette Clark, Garth Beacham, Tom Brown, Colle.n Adams, Charlotte Heap, Dick Rice, CUremont Webster, Paul Rob .rts, Donna Southwlck. Madclon Jones, Ward Mlddleton, Bud Riddle, Norma Nor-ma Leigh, and Joanna Palmer. Irving Hackett Quoted In "Scholastic "Schol-astic Magailne Irving Hackettt, one of the Cedar Ce-dar High School's outstanding seniors, sen-iors, won distinction when from nearly 600 entrants tha "Scholastic Magazine" published parts of a letter he had written for a national nation-al "Small Town Congest." Irving entered the contest by telling tel-ling In hl3 letter what he liked oi disliked about Panaca, Nevada, his home town. Cedar F. F. A. Chapter Hans Summer Trip The Cedar F. F. A. Chapter officers, of-ficers, members, and their Instructor Instruc-tor have be n planning to take t summer trip with the proceeds of the money they have earned throughout the year. Many sug gestlons have been mad: by the boys concerning a place to go. The most prevalent suggestion Is Yellowstone Yel-lowstone Park. Recently the local chapter mem- xrs w re called upon by some of the leading livestock nrn throughout through-out the state to help sell the mag-vzlni mag-vzlni called "Stockman's Review." Tills magazine Is the official organ of the Utah Woolgrowers Association, Associa-tion, the Utah Cattle and Horse Growers Association, and the Utah Dairy Federation. The boyo sold the magazine for $1.50 per subscription sub-scription and were entitled to keep .50 from each one sold. Quite a number of these magazines have been sold and the proceeds have been pooled along with other earnings earn-ings to finance the trip. The boys have Indicated that 'hey have enough money now to lire a bus or truck and thus assure as-sure a trip such as they desire. |
