Show Legion Opens Junior Haseball School The Cedar Post of the American Legion openrd a three day base, ball school Wednesday afternoon .'or Cedar City youths eligible for participation In the American Legion Le-gion Junior Baseball League. Tlie purpose of the school is to give the boys som training in the fundamentals fun-damentals of the game, and to give Coach Ty Tjdlngs. in charge of the Legion program, a chance to get a line on the boys available, Interested tnd possessing talent. Coach Tydings is being assisted with the school by Wallace Osborne. Os-borne. Kent Dovir. Max Cowan. Jack Woodbury, and Joe Roop. The s hool is being held at the new bas ball diamond East of Coal Creek, with the boys meeting at 5 p. m. each d.;y. Any boy who did not reach his sev.nteenth birthday befoie January Jan-uary 1, 1946, Is eligible to participate partici-pate and is Invited by Conch Tydings Tyd-ings to Join In the program. At th dose of the school a city l ague will be organized and a full schedule of games drawn up. In addition, a city team composed of the best players in the league will be organized to meet te;.ms from oh r towns. |
