They just live in anticipation of the hunt for Weeks. We can always plan on three holidays durlnj the tchool year: Thanksgiving. Christmas, and the afternoon before the deer season opens. This disease is contagious not only for the boys, however; you uld often hear the girls say how they wish they could go hunting. The winter lunch program started start-ed Tuesday the 19th, and any students stu-dents who wish to do so are welcome wel-come to participate. We have several sever-al students who are "batching," so to speak, this winter, and this should be quite a financial aid to them. Wednesday we 'had visitors from the State Department of Public Injunction. In-junction. They were Superintendent Superinten-dent of Public Instruction Skldmore, Dr. Fa:nsworth, State Supervisor of Secondary Education, and Mra, Samuelson, S ate Supervisor of Vo-aatlonial Vo-aatlonial Education. According to the report they were very favorably impressed by the general appearance appear-ance of things. The teacher were1 called out for a meeting at eleven o'clock and this gave the students a much appreciated rest. , Quite a large number of students were In 'attendance at Waldo Prank's lecture Friday. The're was some disagreement on some of the points put forth by Mr. Prank, as Is the case with all lectures, but he speech was well organized and authoratlvey His opinions of postwar post-war reconstruction are much in keeping with those of some of our well known men In the political spot-light today. His statement that America, bo h North and South, are minority nations ac far aa physical structure and population Is ?once ned Is very true, and If we are to be a leading nation after this war it will have to be u i nation of new ideas and enterprises, The studetVs feel very keenly the benefits of these Music Arts programs, pro-grams, and they realize that If U were not for them our cultural level lev-el here In Cedar City would be much lower than it la. They realize real-ize that through no other means than that of being admitted on their student body cards as a regular reg-ular school activity could they get uch fine entertainment at such i reasonable cost. . |
