Show Debaters Make Good Showing in California Forensic Tournaments The B. A. C. debate team returned home Sunday evening after an eight-day eight-day debate Jaunt along the California Cali-fornia coast. Forrest Parry, Max Lunt, Robert and Richard Hanseen received a third rating In the meet at Stockton and Max won second place in impromptu speech. The B. A. C. team was the largest and had the best record of any out of state team. The Lunt-Parry team won honors last year and the Hunter-Carpenter team placed second sec-ond last year but didn't do quite as well this year. The competition was very keen because the cream of the entire west was represented there and from these there were but three places given In any event. The team visited Barstow, Red-lands, Red-lands, Los Angeles, Bakersfield, San Francisco and Stockton making stops there. Debate members that made the trip included Forrest Parry. Max Lunt, Richard Hanseen, Robert Hanseen, Carmen Carpenter, Winona Wino-na Hunter, June Barron, Bill Hig-bee, Hig-bee, Velva Topham, Mark Brad-shaw, Brad-shaw, SherrllJ Mellor, Ralph Henderson, Hender-son, the debate coach, Orant Red-ford Red-ford and the singing driver, Fred Wasden.. From San Francslco the team went to Stockton where the Junior college meet Is held annually. Three days of debating there and then the debateri returned home Sunday. |
