Show Second Ward M Men Win Stake Hoop Championship By winning three games during the past week the Cedar Second Ward M Men basketball team won the Parowan Stake championship and a berth in the District Tournament. Tourna-ment. It was expected that the Cedar Ce-dar team would play an elimination series with the Beaver Stake champ-Ions champ-Ions to determine the district turn-ament turn-ament entry from the two Stakes, but since Parowan Stake has had the greatest number of teams participating par-ticipating in regular season play, the Stake champs automatically gain a berth in the district meet. A runner-up team from Parowan Stake, to be determined by a playoff play-off in which three Cedar teams, the Institute, Third and Fourth Ward teams, and a Parowan team will participate, will also get a chance to enter the tournament. The winner of this play - off will meet the St. George playoff will meet the St. George Stake runner-up, and the winner will meet the Beaver Stake chamo-ions chamo-ions for the right to enter the district dis-trict tournament. Other teams to participate in the district meet will be winners of playoffs between the St. George and MoRpa Stake champs, and between be-tween the Kanab and Zlon Park Stake winners. The first two games of the district dis-trict tournament will be played in Cedar City Friday night, March 7th., and the finals will be played At Beaver Saturday night, March 8th.
