Show WILL BE "SOME MEET." FROM indications tho division high school meet to bo hold tomorrow afternoon on tho B. A. C. campus, will bo one of tho most interesting sporting sport-ing events ever pulled off in Cedar City, or in fact any place in tho southern south-ern part of tho stuto. It is confidently expected that at least four schools will enter tho contest, and since tho Murdock defeated tho Sprlngvllle High, which was conceded to bo one of the strongest teams in tho northern division, it is almost a certainty that the victorious team in this contest will also capture tho stato honors. Murdock Mur-dock has on exceptionally strong tenm, and has strong hopes of winning the contest. Inglcstcnd has n cinch on the weight events, so far as first places uto concerned, according to all accounts. Durham is confidently expecting tho polo vault, and Ed wards is exceptionally strong on the distance runs, comprising the mile and half mile, while tho Murdock has two or three men doing excellent work in tho jumps. Dixie has an exceptionally good man on tho mile in the person of Milno, who won this event in tho stato meet last year, and tho raco between ho and Edwards is going to be a thriller; Cox is exceptionally good on tho jumps, and has a good chance of winning the broad jump at least. The Dixie also has some good men on tho sprints, and other ovents. Tho B. A. C. is claiming first in tho sprints, tho relny, probably in tho .high jump and oxpect something in tho weights. Knnnb is coming with a bunch of huskies hus-kies that may upset a lot of tho calculations cal-culations of the other schools, and Panguitch is also an unknown quantity. quanti-ty. There will bo somo exceptionally strong men in the contest, and if tho weather is favorablo thero aro likely to bo somo state ccords smashed. Thero will doubtless bo many spectators specta-tors from adjoining settlements, and a big crowd is certain to witness tho contest. |
