Show Interesting Game. The game of base ball between the married and Binglo men of Cedar was pulled off as advertised Saturday afternoon. af-ternoon. It was an interesting gamo from start to finish, and those Vfhq failed to witness it missed a treat. The married men were too. rnuch for the boys throughout tho eix innings in-nings that were played, aUhqugh tho young fellows put up a. good gamo and played with few errors, The startling features of tho game were a three bagger made by Rev. Rice, in which he made record time around the bases and burned up the grass along the route until barely the stubbles could be. seen- Sp.cncor "bun ted" a ball which tho ghort stop failed to cpnnect with, enabling him to reach second, and immediately came homo with flying colors on a fly to left, put there by Fife. Macfarlane "tapped" a little "runt" which was gathered up nicely and sent spinning to second, but "Rass" made a, dive for it and slid 50 feet, landing safely. There were other spectacular plays, but the boys do not want them mentioned men-tioned for fear the Parowan boys may get "cold feet" nnd refuse to accept the challenge) for a scries of games made by the Cedar base ball club. Taking everything into consideration, considera-tion, lack of practice, soft grounds and "spring fever" the boys did remarkably re-markably woll, and will, with a little moro practice, make first-class players play-ers of tho National game. Tho score 14 to 0 in favor of tho married men". |
