The Red Cross work, registration of women and tithing were the themes. discussed. Miss Pcrl Hunt nnd Mr. Claud Edwards Ed-wards were married at the home of the bride on Nov. 28. Their home is at Mrs. Hunt's at present. They gave the public a dance Friday evening and n shower was riven them Saturday evening. P. I,. (Ire. It, United States Commis sioner and a prominent business man of Modena, was in town Wednesday, attending to matters of business and extending his circle of acquaintances. Mr. Oreen announced his intention of going ba k to his old home in Detroit, which he has not seen for 17 years, and on which he will combine business with pleasure, spending Christmas and New Years, and retui ning some time in January. The following people visited in Parngonah during the Thanksgiving vacation: Mr. and Mrs. David Reese, Mr. and Mrs Will Noyes, Miss Dorothy Dor-othy Williams, were guests of Mrs. J. L Dal ton; Mr. D. H. Robinson and fumily were ruests of Mrs. Richard Robin: on. Mrs. Delia Tophani's listen and their husbands with their cousins, Mrs. Spendlove from Cedar City, visited vis-ited with Mis. Topham. Miss Alice Boweil and IflSS Annabel Anna-bel PrSjaJef of Reaver, were guests of Miss Kettle I.nmo'eauw Misses Rer-tha Rer-tha Topham and Evelyn McRride spent ThanksgiTing -with their parents. par-ents. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. T. Owens from Pangoitch visited with Mrs. J. R. Robinson. Attendance at the last meeting of the Choral Society, held Tuesday evening ev-ening nt the District School building, was not very large, but it was gratifying grati-fying to note that some of the best singers of the community were present, pres-ent, including Professor Roylance, Mr. E. M. Cony and S. C. Rice, tenors, Miss Helen Nelson, Mrs. Annette Bet-tenson, Bet-tenson, Mrs. Martha Jones, and Miss Bernilla Gardner, as accompanist; Mr. George Foster bnss. The time for the most part was sjient in rehearsing re-hearsing the piece, "The Holy City," which it is proposed to produce some Mme the present winter. Already some of the quartets and chorus selections se-lections are reaching a point where they are very pleasing to listen to. ' |
