Show SMALL FIRE AT KOPFSGARAGE. Monday morning an exciting fire broko out nt Kopp'n garage and kept tho workmen on the jump for half on hour trying to get it under control. It nnpears thot a car owner was washing his machine, when he inadvertantly inad-vertantly caused a shortago in the ignition1, which .'throw a spark onto soma gasolino lying on top of' 'tho engine, Immediately the fldmes flashed up and enveloped tho' front of tho machine, catching the clothing cloth-ing of tho owner on fire and burning burn-ing his face and hands when ho attempted at-tempted to beat out tho flames. Tho firo spread rapidly over tho car and threatened to catch the walla and autos near by, but Mr. Kopp and his employes nttacked tho flames with fire extinguishers and soon had tho fire under control. Hnd it not been for having the extinguishers extin-guishers handy tho fire could not have been controlled nnd Mr. Kopp would have suffered a heavy loss. As itw as, but little damage was done to tho premises. W. K. Miller, who wo later learned learn-ed is the owner of the car. was quite badly burned about the face ond hands. His injuries were treated at tho local hospital. |
