Show EXCESSIVE USE OP WATER A PUBLIC NUISANCE The water hog is making some part of the city streets look disreputable. dis-reputable. He is the fellow who is not satisfied with a moderate sized stream of water when he irrigates, but turns in all tho ditch will hold and then a little more, flooding walks and streets so as to make them impassable. City Commissioner Lindquist is nppealed to many times a day to have this sort of thing stopped, and ho makes a very earnest request re-quest that people using water within the city limits, take proper prop-er care of it so as to avoid flooding flood-ing tho streets. He desires the co-operation of all citizens in having the city made as pleasing to the oyo as possible, and of course muddy streets and poorly kept water courses are not pleasant pleas-ant to look at. Logan Journal. Tho conditions complained of by many Logan citizens are to be seen fin Cedar City. What is more disagreeable than to walk along the street, believing it to bo thoroughly dry, then suddenly sudden-ly to step into a river of mud caused by some one carelessly permitting tho water to overflow his irrigation ditches. While Logan has some trouble with overflowing water, it docs not havo open ditches across the sidowalks, such as can be seen all over this city. If there is ono thing moro than any other at the presont time that shows lack of progress, it is the many open irrigaiton ditches across sidowalks. The ditches aro not only an oye-soro but thoy aro a source of danger, and just why the city councils of this city havo not required re-quired property owners to construct con-struct flumes across tho sidewalks, side-walks, is not easily understood. |
