Show Street Sprinkling. If possible, somo arrangements should be made to sprinkle tho streets in the business section of town during tho dry season, partlbularly Main street. rp -' As a result of the flying dust, thja stocks of the business houses arc damaged hundreds of dollars during thtrseaBon. One of the leading merchants stated to a Record reporter that ho woud bear an equal proportion of tho expense with any other considerable number of business houses for the sprinkling of Main street. He feela that in doing so ho would save money by saving the loss to his merchandise. Not only would sprinkling save the merchants great loss but it would enable them to always havo their stocks in better' condition for tho buying public. Tho city could secure a sprinkling wagon and by arranging to havo tho street sprinkled twice a day, could overcome the dust nuisance at a nominal nomi-nal oxpense. While tho city should provide the sprinkler and pay tho expense of operating it, it at least sh)uld furnish the wagon and should cooperate co-operate to get as many merchants as possible to contribute to tho expense of operatidn. |
