Show PARK CITY. Interesting Paragraphs From Utah's Greatest Camp. (Special Correspondence.) The funeral of Mr. John Payne, who died on Monday evening of last week, took place from the Catholic church Friday morning, the 28th uit, at 10 o'clock. A requiem high mass was celebrated while his reamins were in the church. After the mass was finished. fin-ished. Rev. Father Galigan paid a glowing tribute to the life of the deceased. de-ceased. The interment took place in Glenwood cemetery. . ? Monday morning at 8 o'clock a requiem req-uiem mass was celebrated by Rev. Father Gilligan for the repose of the soul of Mr. John Payne. The Ladies' auxiliary of the A. O. H. gave a masque party at their hall last Wednesday evening, which proved to be a most enjoyable affair. Mr. William Garvin, whose sad death occurred on Thanksgiving day, was buried from St. Mary's Catholic church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. . The deceased leaves a wife and six children chil-dren to mourn his untimely death. Tuesday morning at 8 o'clock a requiem req-uiem mass was celebrsted at the Catholic Cath-olic church for Mr. W. Garvin. Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock the funeral of Mr. C. T. Shields took place from the Catholic church, Rev. Father Galligan officiating. The Sacred Heart society held a meeting after the late mass Sunday. $ The mass on Wednesday morning at 7 o'clock was for the repose of the soul of Mr. James Horan. Mr. Frank Daly is now filling the position of foreman at the Silver King mine. The boys say Frank is an honorable hon-orable man, and they are glad of his promotion. - $r- At 11 a. m. Monday Miss Frances Payne and Mr. Michael O'Hagan were united in marriage in the Catholic church. Rev. Father Galligan officiated. offi-ciated. "Count" O'Donnell is seriously ill with pneumonia at this writing, and fears for the worst are entertained. Mrs. James Carrigan gave a little party Tuesday evening in honor of their daughter's birthday, about twenty-five tots being present Mr. James Ivers spent Monday in the Park. Mr. Michael Riordan, a Silver King miner, had a narrow escape from death last Saturday. He fell forty feet, but his injuries, though severe, are not thought to be serious. He was taken down to Salt Lake Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Jennie Gillis and family went to Salt Lake Tuesday afternoon. Sr-Mr. Sr-Mr. Lawrence Cunningham is quite ill at his home on upper Main street. Mr. Flossy Leary, recently from Leadville, Colo., is now in the employ of the Silver King company here. ; Mrs. T. L. Powers spent a day in Salt Lake last week. Mr. Tom Faloon is ill at Holy Cross hospital, , Salt -Lake. Messrs. P. I. Dunn and Richard Powers Pow-ers are among the recent arrivals from Butte. |
