Show Cathedral Building Fair. The cathedral building fair is now in run swing and is proving a success in every particular. The booths are many and varied, and. under the able direction direc-tion of Rev. Father Callanan a substantial sub-stantial sum will undoubtedly be realized. real-ized. Around the contests centers the principal interest, and some valuable prizes are offered. Mrs. John F. Campion Cam-pion and Mrs. Harry O'Bryan- are in charge of the doll, booth, which has never been equaled in the hi -tory of church fairs. Dolls of every description descrip-tion have been donated and are bringing bring-ing in neat sums. "The Newspaper Fraternity" has attracted considerable attention, being the collection of doll representatives from the four papers. Miss Post and Polly Pry from the Post, "The New Baby" with her complete outfit from the Times, "Young Prosperity," Pros-perity," or the newsboy, from the News, and the Republican baby have all had their share of attention. Mrs. Julius Aichele's "Cosy Corner" is an artistic affair and is doing a good business." The work of excavation for the new cathedral is being pushed a'ic.ti with great activity. A large number of workmen have been employ-.?'! jnd the prospect is brightening. The plans have been completed and it is probable that within a few days the contract for the , building will be let. |
