Show I! OFFICIAL ENDORSEMENT. Editor Interxnountain Catholic: ; My Dear Sir: Replying to your favor asking my approval of The lntermounta,tn Catholic since its establishment in this diocese, 1 will state that I consider the founding of a Catholic paper in Salt Laka 1 not the least of the many blessings be- towed by Providence on the Church here i during the past two yeans, its birth oc curred at an opportune time. Its zeal, in propagating Catholic truth, has had. fcince its inception, mv hearty, though silent approval. 1 believe with Our Holy-Father Holy-Father that "a good Catholic journal is a perpetual mission in a parish," and that It will serve as a question box, at all ' times, for anxious Inquirers. In my visi tations I shall hope to find The Inter-i Inter-i mountain Catholic in the homes of every i Cr.tholic family. Its mission is to es- , pouse truth, justice and morality, and all devoted priests will find in It nn able co- operator in their missionary work. It is I my wish that all my priests and the laity entrusted to mv charge should encourage your noble effort and that of the gen-1 gen-1 erous founder of The Intermountain 1 Catholic. Yours sincerely. L. SCANLAN, Bishop of Salt Lake, i Bait Lake City, Oct. 2. 1900. J CARD FROM BISHOP SCANLAN.
