Show "Tftti MAN OF THE HOUR." "The Man of the Hour." which William Wil-liam AVISrady. and Joseph R. Grismer will offer to the theatregoers at. Salt Lake theatre next Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday nights, with matinee Wednesday, marks a new era in the history of the stage. It follows none of the old methods of speec'i or action. ac-tion. It enjoys the unique distinction e never having received adverse criticism. The unanimous praise of the New York press burst upon it like a flood, and its success with the public pub-lic was said to be equally spontaneous and emphatic. In fact, it has become the talk of the town. With no "booming" "boom-ing" of any kind, it ran for two years at "the Savoy theatre. It appeals to every one, regardless of age. sex or condition. It has been called "The Dawn of Civic Conscience." "A Sermon Ser-mon on Public Honesty." yet it is no "dry sermon." Its interest is human and sympathetic. Its humor creates peals and roars of laughter and has a love story of touching tenderness. It is aptly termed "The Play of the Day." Election returns will be read from the stage between each act on Tuesday (election) night. Everybody who saw "The 'Land of Nod" last season, and all who missed it and who heard of it after it had sone. will be pleased to learn that this excellent show will return to the Salt Lake theatre next Thursday. for matinee mati-nee and night. Nothing that was presented pre-sented in this city last winter made a greater hit than this delightful performance, per-formance, and the fact that it will be presented by the same company in almost al-most every individual member gives assurance of an entertainment of the highest order of excellence. Mr. Knox Wilson will repeat his splendid performance per-formance of "April Fool." Miss Grace Drew. the statuesque "Jack of Hearts," comes back, and the same fine chorus of shapely girls and good singers sin-gers has been retained. Several new musical features have been interpolated interpolat-ed and a number of fresh comedy scenes have been added, thus giving the performance all of the characteristics character-istics of a new show. "The Land of Nod" stands high in the estimation of theatregoers of Salt Lake, and there is reason to predict an immense demand for seats wh;.-n the sale opens next I Tuesday. |
